Talk about how you felt when you graduated high school...versus how you feel now about the question “what do you want to be when you grow up?”
I did not graduate high school! I was extremely concerned at the time because not only did I not graduate, which I was sure would slow me down...
If you’re bound for greatness, you’ll find it one way or another. All they tell you in high school is that if you are not going to show up to class and be behind the gym smoking, then you aren’t going to amount to anything. If you’re stubborn enough to want something, and hungry enough to get it, then nothing can really stop you.
What were you hungry enough to want?
To be awesome (laughs).
What do you do for a living?
Fashion, prop and set styling. I’m in charge of building a vision with the photographer. Let’s say it was an editorial that was not an assignment from the magazine. We’d have to have a discussion and work out a concept, a vision and theme. Once that theme is gathered, we would put together some reference images as to what we want the lighting to look like, the make-up, the clothes, the fabrics. Then I would contact the showroom and do my research about the current collections and future collections and try to bring it all together and try to make it look fucking incredible...
